OSLO10 Bar ab 20:30 Konzert 21:00 Eli Keszler: Der in Brooklyn, Massachusetts geborene Komponist/Perkussionist/Multimedia-Künstler Eli Keszler begann mit acht Jahren mit dem Schlagzeugspiel und mit zwölf komponierte er seine ersten Stücke. Bevor er sich für experimentelle und improvisierte Musik zu interessieren begann, spielte er in Rock- und Hardcore-Bands. Dies ist wohl die Quelle für sein physisch intensives, aufwühlendes und oft wildes Spiel. Er absolvierte das New England Konservatorium, wo er Komposition bei Anthony Coleman und Ran Blake studierte. Er arbeitete schon mit Phill Niblock, Roscoe Mitchell, Joe McPhee, Tony Conrad, Loren Connors, Jandek und vielen anderen zusammen und nahm wohl mehr als ein Duzend CDs und LPs für ESP-Disk, REL und PAN auf. Alessandro Bosetti, italienischer Komponist, Jazzsaxofonist und Klangkünstler, beschäftigt sich vornehmlich mit der musikalischen Struktur von Sprache und den ungewöhnlichen Aspekten sprachlicher Kommunikation. Bosetti präsentiert seine Text-Klang-Kompositionen einerseits in Live-Performances, andererseits veröffentlicht er sie als Radioarbeiten und auf CDs. Seine Arbeit bewegt sich zwischen Klang-Anthropologie und Komposition, sie nützt Übersetzungen und die dabei auftretenden Mißverständnisse als Quellen für den kreativen Prozeß. Feldforschungen und Interviews bilden oftmals die Grundlage für seine abstrakten Kompositionen, wobei elekroakustische Verfahren sowie digitale Klangbearbeitung zum Einsatz kommen. English: Eli Keszler, born in Brookline, Massachusetts, is a composer, percussionist and multimedia artist. Keszler began playing drums at the age of 8 and by 12 was already composing his first works. Before focusing on experimental and improvised music he played in rock and hardcore bands, the source of his intensively physical and wild style. He studied with Anthony Coleman and Ran Blake at the New England Conservatorium and has worked with the likes of Phill Niblock, Roscoe Mitchell, Joe McPhee, Tony Conrad, Loren Connors, Jandek and many others, relseasing dozens of CDs and LPs on ESP-Disk, REL and PAN. Keszler’s installations involve piano chords of varying length, fixed in different ways and struck by computer-controlled robotic arms. In his own words: “I like to work with raw materials, such as simple sounds, primitive, old or untouched sounds. I try to understand how to use such material without the addition of external pedals or recordings privileging the live performance.” Alessandro Bosetti is an Italian composer, jazz-saxophonist and sound artist. His interests lie in the musical structure of speech and the anomalies of communication. Bosetti performs his textual/aural compositions both live and in CD or radio formats. His work combines an archeology of sound and composition, while exploiting the misinterpretations arising out of translated texts as creative process. Field researches and interviews constitute the main sources he regularly employs for his abstract compositions, accompanied by electroacoustic and digital sound works.
