Flavio Virzì is originary from Palermo. He studied guitar and classical music in Italy, France and Switzerland and he is active as a performer in different kinds of music from classical to contemporary, rock and improvisation. Short Sound” is a solo-guitar project including original compositions for classical, electric and midi-guitar with and without live electronics.
The program makes a journey through 40 years of new music for this instrument showing lots of different works in meaning, style, ideological approach and sonority.
The good “old” serial avant-garde of Girolamo Arrigo, the spectralism of Tristan Murail, the geometries of Elliot Carter, the microtonal music of Manfred Stahnke go to the little jazzy sarabande by the young american composer E. Cole and the cross over music of Jakob Ter Veldhuis.
Cedric Spindler is an audio designer originary from Switzerland. He works in several areas from classical music to electro and improvisation.
He programmed the sounds for several compositions in programm and realizes the live electronics parts.
